Chair and bike fixed as of yesterday for the most part

My chair has a 1 year manufacturers warranty and a 1 Motion Specialties warranty. I had to make a in-shop appointment at Motion Specialties to get my tilt, lights and AC outlet on my power chair working. As they were working on that I happened to ask them about my controller which they have sent back to the manufacturer. What happened was there's a little box underneath my chair that the tilt, lights and AC outlet which fell off and was on the ground which tore off the plugin for those things not to be able to work anymore. When I talked to the tech he told me that they weren't sure that they would pay for a new controller because mine is absolutely fried and can't be repaired as far as I am aware of but of course they had to get me a new one because I need it for PowerChair Football.

I was having an issue with my bike only being able to turn left so I called them and they came to take a look at it and they needed it at the shop to figure out what is wrong with it. It landed up needing a new throttle which they had to order in and luckily that was covered under the 1 year manufacturer's warranty

Fun bus ride

I was on the bus the other day going to pick up a game at EB games and I find it really strange when people come up and tell me that they know someone like me? And I have to ask myself "What does that really mean? Are you trying to categorize me because I have a power chair that helps me to get around places"? I find it very interesting and I don't let it bug me but I just find it frustrating and really I can take that comment a number of different ways if I chose. All I can really do is say "Oh you do, do you"?, "good for you" or (in my head) "do I care" of course without going into a deep conversation about why that can be misread as being an insulting comment. Now I know that that wasn't the intent of what he said but I just don't agree with that.

On another note, I have been experiencing an issue while trying to get to sleep at night with my throat and it has been going on for about 2 1/2 years but I am sick of being tired during the day when I could be more awake but it not only happens when I am about to go to sleep. Sometimes it happens during the day. I am finding that it takes more effort for me to swallow and disrupts what I am doing. It's worst when I am in bed lying on my back or on my right side so I have to sleep on my left which hurts my shoulder. This is the first time I'm really talking about it so I am hoping for some advice on what to do and whether to consult some professional who might be able to help. Keep in mind that I do bring water to help with it every night but it doesn't seem to help anymore. Any suggestions would be much appreciative.

Me and my trike in the Cove
I have a bike that I am able to get on by myself and I tried doing so on an extremely hot day about 4 maybe 5 days ago. So I keep my bike in my shed which isn't really designed for my bike and right now I am unable to afford building a separate space for it. My neighbour who walked by and saw that I was opening my shed offered a helping hand getting it out. My bike is barely able to fit through the doorway of the shed so whoever helps me has to be really careful when pulling the bike out. When we got it out my neighbour went and I attempted to put on the chain and to get on it. It was a success (although it took me 1 1/2 hours). It has a motor in the front wheel and a battery on the back. Since it has that option I can no longer pedal at least for the time being. So moving on, I got in my bike and tried to throttle to accelerate and the bike would not move unless I turned to the left. Of course, what is that going to do for me? Absolutely nothing. I then called Motion Specialties to come and have a look at it for me and they came today to see what they could do to fix it. They now have it in the shop to get repaired. I have to say I think I'm their best customer.

Great summer as always

Alexis, Chris and I at the
 Ray LaMontagne concert
Summer is now over pretty much maybe not the weather though and as I have been mentioning in my other blogs a best friend of mine stayed with me for four weeks including the single week when my mom went to Montreal and then she spent three weeks in Belgium.

Chris and I live like bachelors which is of course totally different in comparison to how my mom and I live together.

Alexis, Chris and I went to see Ray LaMontagne live in concert last night at the Orpheum theatre downtown Vancouver and of course it was a blast and we all had a ton of fun. I decided to pull an all nighter and so we watched Soul Surfer. After the movie Later that morning I had to take the bus to play power chair football in the morning at Bonsor Recreational Center at 10 in the morning. Chris and I agreed that I would take the bus there and back because he needed to clean the house a little bit. After playing PowerChair Football for two hours my chair was dead and I knew I wasn't going to make it home on the bus even if I tried since I didn't charge my chair because of the all-nighter. So I had to arrange for one of the dad's to drop me off at Phibbs Exchange. I took the bus from Phibbs Exchange home just to go to the airport to pick my mom up which I didn't mind doing.

Here comes the weepy part of this Blog. I started crying and haven't really been able to control it very well. Part of that is because I am most likely over tired and also because Chris and I had a great time together this summer. I'm sad to let it go so soon but looking forward to the times yet to come. Chris has introduced me to some fantastic people that I will never forget and stay in touch forever
